Private Training

There are many reasons why you might choose to use Private Training over Group Training.

  • Time constraints & work commitments
  • Difficulty getting everyone in the family to a training group each week
  • Unable to transport your dog
  • Behavioural problems that need assessing in your home environment
  • Specific areas of training as opposed to general training eg only walking on lead
  • You would like us to train your dog for you rather than teach you to train your dog

Whatever the reason, Family Dog Fun & Training offers private training for dogs of all ages.

We can come to your home, park, wherever you need training, or you can come to our training grounds at Brookfield Veterinary Surgery for one-on-one training sessions, or come with a friend and share the cost.

Sometimes the distraction of group training is too much for your dog to learn in.  Maybe you would like more individual training than can be offered in a group training environment?  Private Training allows us to focus on your specific needs, and provide advice and tailored training plans to work through with your dog.

In-Home Consultations are ideal for dogs that are showing problem behaviours at home.  These range from single, hour-long visits, to multiple visits depending on your needs.  The sessions include a tailor made program, with information on leadership and basic canine manners. Our in-home visits will suit you if your dog:

  • Has a barking problem
  • Jumps up on visitors, or your family
  • Does not listen to you
  • Is out of control!
  • Needs general assistance with walking on lead or various other obedience commands

We can also help with In-Home Puppy Management & Training, providing personalised guidance and advice on:

  • Housetraining
  • Mouthing and chewing
  • Puppies & children
  • Getting it right from the start!

Please note that we highly recommend group puppy training for pups under 6 months of age as socialisation at this age is SO important.

Our in-home puppy training is designed as an adjunct to advise you on the best way to manage your puppy in your own home environment, and how to avoid some of the problems before they start.

We run Puppy Preschool classes every week at the Brookfield Vet Surgery and Monier Vet Clinic for puppies aged 8-16 weeks, and the ideal start to a puppy's life.  Bookings can be made through Family Dog Fun & Training, or directly through the veterinary practices.
